Shaker Style Kitchen with Undermounted Ceramic Sink
With clients used to a much smaller kitchen, there was no guarantee they would immediately agree that big is beautiful. After all, the constraints of a small kitchen are often outweighed by the sheer convenience of having everything to hand.
Luckily we were in a position to be involved at the building stage so we were able to influence decisions like where windows would be, thus allowing for maximum flexibility in our own design. Our client, who has a strong sense of style, took a very hands-on approach requesting that we retain and extend her original AGA and integrate all appliances other than the Liebherr wine cooler in to the shaker style kitchen.
These appliances were cleverly built into a bespoke mahogany pantry unit while large drawer packs either side of the AGA provide convenient storage for cooking utensils and various AGA accessories. Silestone surfaces were chosen for the properties of a natural stone without the colour variance or porosity issues.
The finished shaker style kitchen with solid wood interior proved that big is indeed beautiful once practicality is kept to the fore.
